Heir & Back Again was originally supposed to be a bonus for the Snow White Kickstarter, but it wasn’t completed in time. I asked if I could finish it. Thus, in addition to the layout design, I also did about 50% of the writing and game design work. The flowchart style map page was my idea, with the concept being a series of linked “nodes” for the Game Master to follow. In the digital version, these nodes are hyperlinked to their relevant text. The original concept was for a throwback to 1980’s computer adventure games, especially the King’s Quest series. I leaned into that for the cover design (see comparison piece in gallery).
